Accessible Scouting Activities
Below are some activity ideas for a Scout troop to help promote Scout spirit for Scouts with special needs and their fellow Scouts.
- Earn the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge. This can be a goal for all Scouts in your troop, helping every Scout to be aware of one another’s needs and interests. For more information about this merit badge, contact a Disabilities Awareness merit badge counselor or the Council Committee On Accessible Scouting..
- Host a visit from a member of the Council Committee on Accessible Scouting. This committee has prepared a short program available to help Scouts and leaders for any of Scouting programs (Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts) become more aware of the efforts to help all Scouts benefit and enjoy the Scouting program. Contact the committee chair and schedule a short, informative program at an upcoming meeting.
- Visit the Council Calendar to find out about upcoming Scout and adult activities and opportunities.
