Train The Trainer Courses

On Sunday, September 25, VHC is offering two BSA's trainer development courses that teaching techniques and skills to new Scout trainers but are also designed to help all Scouters, regardless of their experience, present effective training. Remember: leaders are trainers, and trainers are leaders.

Fundamentals of Training is the first part of the three-part BSA train-the-trainer continuum.  All trainers are better prepared for their role by participating in this course that enables them to understand how adults and youth learn and how best to present Scouting training.   Fundamentals of Training is required for NYLT Staff.  To be considered trained for their role, pack and troop trainers are also required to complete this course.

Trainer’s EDGE is the second part of the three-part train-the-trainer continuum.  This course is required for all Wood Badge Staff.  It is also for other trainers wishing to enhance their training and presentation skills. 

(For the record, the third part of the train-the-trainer continuum is the Strategic Training Plan, a course that teaches district and council training chairs how to collect and analyze data, create and execute a training plan, review results and make adjustments as needed.)

Cost is $5 for course materials. Participants must bring their own lunches and water.
