High Adventure First Aid

Who should take: Adult leaders for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers, older Scouts (14 and above with leader), professionals, Parents, Girl Scout Leaders, Senior Girl Scouts.

Location: Verdugo Hills Council Service Center

Scheduled class: Saturdays October 6 - November 17, 2007 - 9:00 AM - 5;30 PM

Prerequisites: None

Personal Equipment: 3-ring binder, pen or pencil and paper, fanny pack or daypack, wristwatch with second capability, penlight.

Course Description: This 60+ hour course is designed to give you the skills necessary when 9-1-1 is not a workable choice and emergency medical help may be up to 36 hours away. The course starts with Wilderness First Aid Basics and includes, ARC Emergency Respond, CPR for Professionals and California Title 22 Certification. The program includes realistic simulations of emergency events and tests your response to them. The course meets the guidelines of the Wilderness Medical Society.

Recertification: Attend 1/2 of the classes and pass written and practical final exams.
