The 2010 National Scout Jamboree will attract nearly 38,000 Scouts and leaders, and is scheduled for 10 days in late July - early August of 2010, at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. Located in the rolling hills of Caroline County, Va., the 76,000-acre base is near the towns of Fredericksburg and Bowling Green. This National Jamboree will be held coincident with the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the United States. This is truly the opportunity of a lifetime. The cost per participant will be $4010 per Scout. This cost will cover the entire trip and equipment, except for uniforms and spending money. The trip includes 9 days of touring historic sites in the eastern United States, and the 10 day National Scout Jamboree. The trip will start on July 19, 2010, and conclude on August 5, 2010. As with previous Jamborees, there was a selection process for Scouts and Leaders to represent the Verdugo Hills Council at this awesome event. The final arrangements have been made and the trip is now underway. Check back before year end to get news and information about the 2013 National Scout Jamboree!
